When analysing a number of different charts and diagrams and wanting to refer to one of them, would it be correct to say ...
The first statistic is a bar chart and shows ...Actually I do not think so because I found that the singular rather refers to single figures.
The first statistics are a bar chart and show ...I do hope this is considered correct, but it sounds a bit odd to me.
